For those of you in Northern California, I expect you have heard about the fire at the Berkeley Humane Society--they immediately need fosterhomes for 15 cats, but also need volunteers to help clean up and donations to rebuild.
This was a wonderful center--big rooms where people could meet with cats they might like to adopt, a nice play room for the mature unadopted cats who lived there full time, and many volunteers who came by to play with the animals. I wish I were closer, but definitely plan to send $$ now and hopefully donate some time if they still need it when I'm out there later in the summer.
