So after a good bit of effort I found a very nice person to housesit for a couple of months this summer while I fly on way too many airplanes. The whole reason for needing a housesitter is really to keep Mop company, since we acquired her in the first place because she was so plaintive about being a lonely deserted cat. Tonight the future housesitter came by for introductions. I cleaned up, got beer and chips, and the weather was gorgeous, so we sat out on the deck.
As I was explaining about Mop's delicate psyche and need for company, suddenly hideous cat shrieks rent the air.
"Surely the terrible catfighting, bird-killing cat who lives across the street," I assured him.
And then Mop wandered up with tufts of white fur sticking out from the claws on her black paws.

Nevertheless, he still took us on, but I'm pretty sure he's going to be a little careful with the Mop.

Hee, Mop is just making sure she doesn't have to fake it for the house sitter!

Well, the fur looked suspiciously like BC's (our outside cat) but she didn't have any large gashes on her. Guess it was just a fur wound.

Maybe Mop was doing for BC what I have to do for Sam, some serious grooming....Sam's reaction is not a happy one!
