Hard to believe in such a kind-hearted world, but the Red Cross is now having to borrow money to provide for disaster relief. This has been the year from hell, with wildfires, tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, and other major disasters all over. The RC uses mostly volunteers, and is there with shelters, food, medicine, and clothes when they're needed. Right now they have 155 shelters open in Texas for 20,000 people.
If you know anyone who has a few cents to spare, ask them to donate to the Red Cross at

And don't forget that your local chapter needs funds, too--they take care of people with house fires and other small disasters--but no disaster is small to the people who live through it.
